The 2017 Somalian Silver Elephant coin is the 13th addition to the Somalia African Elephant Coin Series. The series is minted by the Bavarian State Mint of Germany. It was commissioned by the Republic of Somalia to commemorate the African elephant. The front side of the coin features an elephant with his trunk in the air, walking across the Serengeti, with native grass hut in the background. The reverse face of the coin bears the Somalian Coat of Arms.
